Training Programs

We offer advanced training through programs such as:

  • Translational Malaria Genomics (TraMGen) Fellowship: Provides specialized training in malaria genomics and its application to control efforts.
  • MMALA PhD Program: Focuses on malaria modeling and its role in predicting and controlling malaria outbreaks.

These programs are designed to build expertise, foster collaboration, and drive innovation in malaria research and control

Capacity Strengthening

Capacity building is a core component of our strategy. We provide:

  • External Competency Assessment for Malaria Microscopists (ECAMM): A program to assess and improve the skills of malaria microscopists across the region.
  • E8 Entomology Fellowship: A training program for entomologists to enhance mosquito surveillance and vector control efforts.

Research Projects

Our research projects aim to advance malaria science and improve elimination strategies. Key initiatives include:

  • Genomics for Malaria in Elimination 8 Countries (GenE8): Enhances regional capacity for malaria molecular surveillance. The project focuses on understanding malaria genomics to improve surveillance and intervention strategies.

Molecular Surveillance (MMS): Ongoing research to track malaria parasites and resistance patterns
